This “North and Central Vietnam Experience” tour is perfect for eager tourists who want to discover natural beauty and historical culture of Northern and Central Vietnam. In just eight days, you will be taken to Hanoi and many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Vietnam. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and is famous for its romantic authenticity and rich cultural history. This tour highlights multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Hue Monument Complex (1993), Ha Long Bay (1994), Hoi An Ancient Town (1999), My Son Sanctuary (1999), and Trang An Scenic Complex (2014). Especially, you get to spend the night on a luxurious cruise ship at Ha Long Bay. You will have a wonderful time exploring the fascinating Old Quarter of Ha Noi, the wonderland of Ha Long Bay and Trang An, ancient cities of Hue and Hoi An, and the historical mysteries of Cham Towers in My Son.
DAY 1: HA NOI (L/D)
Check in Hotel and enjoy a free day in Hanoi.
DAY 2: HA NOI – TRANG AN – HOA LU – HA NOI (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will leave Hanoi for Ninh Binh province and Eejoy the beautiful scenery of the rural areas along the way. Upon arrival at Trang An Complex – the only Mixed UNESCO World Heritage Site in Southeast Asia, the locals will take you on a boat ride to fully explore the area. Trang An is famous for its majestic landscape of rock formations, marverlous mountains, peaceful river, and lush rice paddies. Cruising down the river, you will explore the spectacular scenery of huge rocks standing along the river and scattered, and velvety green rice fields. The harmonious interaction between nature and human life forms a poetic painting of Northern Vietnamese countryside.
In the afternoon, you will head to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, and visit the 1000-year-old temple dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009). After that, you will visit the famous Bai Dinh Temple to pay tribute to the many Arhat statues there, and especially the largest bronze Buddha in Vietnam. After that, you will return to Hanoi and spend the rest of the night there.
DAY 3: HA NOI – HA LONG - OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE (B/L/D)
Today, you will travel to Ha Long Bay – UNESCO World Heritage Site listed in 1994, while enjoying the spectacular view of the countryside en route. Upon arrival, you will check into your private cabin on a luxury cruise and enjoy lunch while traveling Ha Long Bay, where you can see the panoramic view of nearly 2,000 limestone islets of different shapes and sizes against the backdrop of the gleaming water.
In the afternoon, you will visit one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Long Bay and prepared to be captivated by the stunning combination of amazing rock formations, glistening water and lush green islets. Later, you have a chance to attend a cooking class on board and enjoy dinner while watching the beautiful sunset with your loved ones.
DAY 4: HA LONG – HANOI (B/L/D)
This morning, you will continue exploring Ha Long Bay by sailing across its 2,000 islets and visiting some of major highlights in the area. After the refreshing morning Taichi session and breakfast on board, we will visit Fishermen Village and watch local fishermen going through their daily activities in small huts connected by floating buoys on the water.
On the way back to Hanoi in the afternoon, you will spend some time in Dong Trieu Ceramic Village, one of the compulsory stops for local and foreign tourists where you can observe the local Vietnamese craftsmen making beautiful ceramic handicrafts. After that, you will spend the last night in Hanoi.
DAY 5: HANOI – HUE CITY TOUR (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will board your domestic flight to Hue, the former Imperial Capital of Vietnam and renowned for its magnificent architecture, beautiful pagodas and grand royal tombs. On December 1993, Hue is recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. En route, you get to see the beautiful panoramic views of the landscape from way above the clouds. You will be able to see Hai Van Pass, the most dangerous pass in Vietnam.
Upon arrival in Hue, you first visit Khai Dinh Tomb – the most extravagant tomb of all Nguyen Dynasty emperors. Right after, we will visit The Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled from 1802 to 1945. The tour will then take you to other famous locations such as Dai Noi, Ngo Mon, Thai Hoa Palace, and Imperial Palace. In the afternoon, you will board a private boat and cruise along the Huong River and enjoy the incredible view of the riverside, especially the most famous and beautiful Thien Mu Pagoda, in which many antiques and artifacts of Vietnamese Buddhism in central Vietnam reside. Then, you get to spend the night in Hue and are totally free to explore Trang Tien Bridge by the romantic Huong River at night.
DAY 6: HUE – LANG CO – HOI AN (B/D)
Check out early to go to Lang Co and enjoy your free day here. At 4:00 PM, you will head to Hoi An to check in Hotel here. Then, enjoy your free night at Hoi An Ancient Town.
DAY 7: HOI AN – MY SON – DA NANG (B/L/D)
In the morning, you will head to My Son Sanctuary – a UNESCO World Heritage site listed in 1999 and the cultural center of the late Champa Empire that ruled the area that later became Central Vietnam from 2nd to 13th century. Your visit My Son Sanctuary includes discovery of many temples and towers in the valley surrounded by sacred mountains and gain knowledge about the unique and mysterious history of the Champa. Later, you will have the chance to enjoy the Aspara Dance and the sound of the charming Saranai flute performed by Champa dancers and musicians.
After lunch, you will depart from Hoi An and to Da Nang – the third largest city and the most organized urban area in Vietnam. Our first destination is visit the famous Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), a cluster of five marble and limestone hills and one of the attractions that features the tranquil countryside southern Da Nang. Then we head to My Khe Beach, one of the best beaches in the world voted by Forbes Magazine and a favorite destination of tourists all over the world. You will spend your last night of the tour freely exploring in Da Nang on your own leisure.
DAY 8: HOI AN - DA NANG – HOME TOWN (B)
After breakfast, you visit Linh Ung Temple where the tallest Guan Yin statue in Vietnam lies with the height of 67m. Linh Ung Temple is situated on a 700m-tall mountain in Son Tra Peninsula and is an excellent destination visited by tourists all around the world. On the mountain, you will get to enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Da Nang, then we will transfer you to the airport to board your flight back home.
